Combine the first 8 ingredients in a plastic bag. Score steak and add to bag, seal and chill at least 2 hours. Remove steak, reserving marine for the sauce, pat dry.
Preheat grill to high. Other meats can be substituted for the beef.
Boil marinade in a saucepan for 10 minutes, or until thick; strain.
Grill and brush steak or other meat with marinade. Allow steak to rest 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.
Prepare remaining ingredients.
To serve, start with a cabbage leave then add some beef and desired vegetables and drizzle with the reduced sauce.
