Week #10 (EVEN Week Pickup)
Dear CSA Member,
Everything here on the farm has been looking just beautiful so far this season. We had a rainy spring but, it really turned into a beautiful summer. The onion harvest has been unbelievable this year and now we are stepping into a large harvest of broccoli. Due to all the rain last season we lost the majority of the broccoli crop but, we are sure making up for it this season. Broccoli is a very easy vegetable to freeze if you feel its to much or, you can make a broccoli salad to share. (Salad recipe and freezing instructions are on the bottom of your email)
This week is a coffee and dry bean share week as well as the start of the sweet corn share. If you ordered any other these optional shares please do not forget to pick them up at the CSA site. If you weren't able to order these shares you can still get coffee, beans, and even a sweet corn order from the marketplace. (limited supply)
We hope that you will mark your calendar with the upcoming Fall Farm Festival. The Fall Farm Festival will be held on the farm August 31 from 11:30-3:00. Please use 145 Garcia Lane, Leeds, NY 12451 address. It is a great day to come to the farm and see how your vegetables are grown, meet your farmers and walk the fields. We have the grill hot with pulled pork, grilled Sweet Corn as well as a batch of Stoneledge Farm Vegetable Chili. Food provided by Kim and Mickael of Paradis to Go http://paradistogo.com There will be Stoneledge Farm Coffee and water available as well. We ask that members bring a dish to share so that lunch is a giant pot luck get together. If possible, please bring your own place settings, utensils, and cup. No pets, please.
There are flowers to pick and take home from the flower garden. If you would like to take flowers home, please bring your own scissors and something that will keep the flowers until you get home. Wet paper towels or newspapers in a bag will usually do the trick.
It is really a great day to visit Stoneledge Farm and meet everyone who grows your vegetables. Please make a note on your calendar and come to the farm
If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to the farm. Hope to see you then.
