6 cups thinly sliced cucumbers
In a glass or crockery bowl, alternately layer the cucumbers and onions.
In a medium size saucepan combine the sugar, vinegar, salt and spices. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves. Pour the syrup over the vegetables. Cool. Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
These pickles will keep for at least 1 month in the refrigerator.
