How to make Applesauce

Serves:   6
(serving size: 1/2 cup)

  • Prep Time:   10 minutes
  • Cook Time:   20 minutes
  • Total Time:   30 minutes



Optional: Cinnamon and Nutmeg


Wash and core Apples.  Add the apples to a pot with a small amount of water.  Bring the pot to a boil; then, reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently. For smooth sauce, run the cooked apples through a food mill, blender or a food processor.  If you prefer chunky applesauce, use a potato masher to mash the apples to your desired consistency.

For a beautiful pink apple sauce, leave the skins on the apples while cooking.  Add cinnamon, nutmeg as you like.
