News
Dear CSA Members,
We finally had a Dry day today (Friday) & some Sun! What a relief. We took full advantage of this day and we were able to get some transplants that were in the greenhouse patiently waiting to be planted, planted into the fields today. We have been seeding more crops and still have plenty of vegetable transplants in the greenhouse that need to be planted in the coming weeks. We are hoping for some better weather patterns in the coming weeks.
With all this rain the vegetables will not hold as long as they normally would. So please use them up. You will want to use up the cucumbers or summer squash first. You can also see my freezing and preserving tips at the bottom of this email.
New in your share this week is Stoneledge Farm Celery! This celery is not the traditional celery you will find in the store. It has a deep green color with a very strong flavor. You can use the leaves as well in place of fresh parsley, or even freeze the leaves for a winter soup.
Enjoy this week's harvest!
